About Paradores

Arab fortresses, old convents, palaces, castles, manor houses…Unique buildings from yesteryear and today. They are the Paradores de Turismo de España, a brand recognised around the world for its quality and comfort, but above all, the magic of its hotels.

More than 91 years of history guarantee this hotel chain, whose thirty thirty-bed capacity when the first hotel of the network was opened in the Sierra de Gredos in 1928, has become more than 10,000 and with 97 hotels in total, 96 in Spain and a franchise in Portugal.

Paradores de Turismo de España is a State Trading Company (S.M.E.), constituted as a Limited Company in 1991. The sole shareholder is the Spanish state, through the Directorate General of State Heritage, part of the Ministry of Finance and Civil Service. Its mission is to collaborate in recovering and protecting historical heritage, to boost areas with reduced touristic or economic movement and to serve as an image of quality Spanish tourism. Its sustainable policies and corporate social responsibility have notably contributed to its brand image.

Paradores aspires to lead the markets in which it operates through its unique management style, unique in its sustainability. This public hotel chain is a financially profitable company that also provides important social, cultural and environmental benefits to local areas and the country as a whole, through working closely with the local communities where its hotels are located. Paradores is guided by its mission to provide excellent customer service, focussed at all time on satisfying its millions of guests.
