About Conservas Antonio Alonso

The origins of Conservas Antonio Alonso go back to 1873, and it is the oldest canning company still operating in Spain.

It has always produced products of the finest quality, as shown by certain important events in the company’s history.  For instance, its presence at the 1922 Brussels International Trade Fair and the visit made by King Alfonso XIII of Spain to its factory in 1927. The company was transformed into a limited liability company in 1947, and its emblematic brand, Palais d’Orient, was changed to the present one, Palacio de Oriente. Thirty years later, it was incorporated as a public limited company and eventually consolidated its leading position in the sector, maintaining and enhancing as its marks of distinction its adaptation to market needs and customer loyalty based on the quality of its products.
The firm has also registered other trademarks such as “Ardora”, “Albatros”, “Alonso”, among others, to cover different markets in Spain and abroad.

In all its processes, it combines its longstanding experience and know-how with the latest technology. The company was one of the first to obtain the ISO 9001 standard, which was soon followed by others such as ISO 14001, IFS and BRC.

20% of its turnover is represented by the sales of its brand Palacio de Oriente in foreign markets.
